Konfiguracja odtwarzacza Windows
Zainstaluj odtwarzacz easyCMS Windows dla systemów oznakowania cyfrowego, zapoznaj się z wymaganiami systemowymi, instrukcją instalacji, połączeniem CMS, ustawieniami trybu watchdog i kiosku.
The Windows player turns any Windows PC, a mini PC behind a screen, an all-in-one, or repurposed office hardware, into an easyCMS display. It is the most flexible player platform, with the broadest widget and format support, and a natural choice when you already own Windows hardware.
Good to know Windows is the only platform that plays a PowerPoint file natively, and only where a full licensed copy of Microsoft PowerPoint is installed on that player. Android and LG webOS cannot play a
.pptxat all. For anything other than a Windows player with PowerPoint on it, export the deck to MP4 first, which plays everywhere and is what we would recommend regardless.
System requirements
- Windows 10 or later. A Pro edition is preferable to Home for signage, because it gives you proper control over Windows Update restarts.
- The .NET Framework runtime (the installer will tell you if it is missing).
- Enough CPU/GPU for your content: any modern machine handles Full HD; 4K video needs a correspondingly capable GPU.
- A network connection, wired, where possible, for permanent installations.
Installing
- Get the easyCMS Windows player installer from the downloads page.
- Run it and step through the wizard, accepting the licence and the default install location. The install takes a couple of minutes.
- When it finishes, the player’s options window opens for first-time configuration.
Łączenie z systemem CMS
In Player Options, enter the CMS address, normally https://app.myeasycms.com, in full including https://, and your CMS key, both taken from your welcome email. Check the local library path too, the folder where the player caches downloaded content, and make sure the drive has a few GB free. If your network uses a proxy, the advanced settings accept proxy credentials.
Save, then start the player. It registers with easyCMS and reports that it is waiting for authorisation — that is expected.
Now claim the screen from Add a display, on a device using the same internet connection as the PC. That is what assigns one of your display licences and unlocks content delivery; you do not need access to the CMS’s own Displays page, and customer accounts do not have it.
One last step on the PC: once it is claimed, close and reopen the player (or click Connect in Player Options). Authorising alone does not move it off the waiting screen — it collects its configuration on the next connection attempt.
Making it survive real life
A signage PC must recover from power cuts and keep running unattended:
- Automatic logon: configure Windows to log the signage user in automatically at boot.
- Autostart: ensure the player (and its watchdog, below) launch at logon, the installer sets this up by default.
- Watchdog: the companion watchdog utility monitors the player and restarts it automatically if it ever hangs or closes. Leave it enabled.
- Disable interruptions: turn off screensavers, sleep, and notification pop-ups; silence system sounds; schedule Windows Update active hours so reboots happen at night.
- Hide the shell (optional): for a true kiosk, dedicated signage installs often run the player as the shell or use assigned access so the desktop never appears.
Centralised settings
Rather than configuring each PC locally, manage Windows players through a display settings profile in the CMS: check-in (collect) interval, screenshot interval, operating hours, sizing and more. Assign the profile to your Windows displays and changes propagate automatically at the next check-in.
Verifying and monitoring
Once authorised and scheduled, the player downloads content into its local library and starts playback within a few minutes. On the machine itself, pressing the i key while the player runs opens its status window, connection state, schedule, downloads and recent errors. Remotely, use the CMS display monitoring tools to watch check-ins and request screenshots.
If the player cannot connect, or the screen never appears, the offline display checklist covers the usual causes: a mistyped CMS address, firewall rules blocking outbound HTTPS, or a missed authorisation step.
