LG webOS Digital Signage Software With No Monthly Fee

Run LG webOS Signage displays with easyCMS: which LG screens work, set-up from the SI Server menu, control from your phone with Studio, and one payment per screen.

An LG signage display has its own computer inside. Put the easyCMS player on it and the screen plays your content with no box behind it and no HDMI cable. You change what it shows from your phone, and you pay once per screen, not every month.

Add an LG screen

Choose LG webOS and Studio walks you through it, then connects the screen to your account.

What “webOS Signage” means on an LG screen

webOS is the operating system in LG’s displays. The signage models run webOS Signage, which lets the panel install a player app from a web address or a USB stick and open it every time it switches on.

You don’t need LG SuperSign or another LG content service to do this. LG’s own software suits people who run only LG screens and are happy with LG’s way of working. easyCMS runs LG, Samsung, Android and Windows screens from one place, for one payment per screen.

Which LG displays work

The player runs on LG’s Signage series with webOS Signage 3.0 or newer. LG also sells Commercial and Hospitality series, and LG TVs for the home. They work differently inside and don’t run the easyCMS player.

Your LG screen Works with easyCMS
Signage series, webOS Signage 3.0 to 6.0 Yes: check your model
Newer webOS Signage models Likely; send us the model number before ordering in bulk
WP320 or WP400 player box Yes, but easyCMS can’t control the screen’s power, brightness or button lock
Commercial or Hospitality series No
LG home TVs No: add a player on HDMI, such as an Android player

The model number is on the label at the back of the screen. If it isn’t on our list, ask us before you buy.

From the box to playing content in four steps

Allow about fifteen minutes per screen. Have your CMS address and key from your welcome email ready.

  1. Update the firmware and set the clock. Use the firmware LG recommends for the model. A wrong date or time makes the install fail without saying why.
  2. Open SI Server Setting. Press Settings on the remote, choose EZ Settings, then SI Server Setting. On webOS 3.0, hold Settings and type 8080.
  3. Install the player. Set Application Launch Mode to Local, Fully Qualified Domain Name to On, Application Type to IPK, enter the player address, and set Local Application Upgrade to REMOTE. Restart the screen. No internet during set-up? Install from USB with the package on the downloads page.
  4. Connect and claim it. Enter the CMS address and key and press Connect. Then, on a phone on the same network, open Add a screen in Studio (or Add a display), choose LG webOS, name the screen and connect it.

Add a screen shows each step with the exact player address. The LG webOS player setup guide covers the USB route and the error messages.

Run your LG screens from your phone

Once connected, you run the panel from easyCMS Studio at app.myeasycms.com/studio, on your phone or a computer. Nothing to install.

Pick a design

More than 200 templates for menus, offers, notices and welcome screens. Change the words, tap Play on… and choose the screen.

Decide when it plays

Always, between two dates, or on chosen days, such as lunch from 11:30 to 14:30 on weekdays.

Photos and videos

Upload from your phone’s camera roll, put them in order, and play the playlist on as many screens as you like.

Check it played

See which screens are online, and Analytics lists what each screen showed and when. More in proof of play.

The same Studio runs Samsung, Android and Windows screens, so a mix of players is no extra work.

What LG panels are good at, and where they are not

Good at Not so good at
Tidy installs: one device, one power lead, nothing behind the screen Heavy designs: several videos or live web pages run better on an Android player or a Windows PC
Long hours on a timer, with content stored on the panel Synchronised video walls: an Android-player feature in easyCMS
Mixed fleets: the same designs play on LG and Samsung Old firmware: update the panel before you start, it fixes many problems

Orientation, operating hours and check-in times sit on a settings profile we manage centrally: tell us what you need and it reaches every LG panel at once.

What it costs

You pay once per screen, with no monthly fee on the easyCMS and PRO accounts. An LG screen takes our licence for Samsung Tizen or LG webOS, 129€ once, or 99€ in the same order as the account. It includes the commercial webOS player licence, which we apply for you: there is no code to type.

  • The easyCMS account is 49€ once and runs up to five screens. The licence it includes covers a Windows or Android screen, not an LG one.
  • Above five screens, the PRO account is 299€ once, with room for 25.
  • All prices are on the pricing page. The panels come from your display supplier.

Questions people ask

Do I need LG SuperSign or an LG account?

No. The panel runs the easyCMS player as its own app, installed from the SI Server Setting menu. There is no LG subscription to keep up.

Will it work on my LG TV?

Not on a home TV, and not on LG’s Commercial or Hospitality series. Those need a player on the HDMI input. Tizen vs webOS vs Android player helps you pick one.

Do I have to enter a player licence code?

No. The webOS player licence is included in the 129€ licence and we apply it automatically when the screen connects.

Can I mix LG panels with other screens?

Yes. Samsung, Android and Windows screens connect to the same account and sit side by side in Studio. A design plays on any of them.

Stuck on a model or an error? Send us a support request with the model number and a photo of the screen, or book an expert hour at 25€ and we’ll set it up with you.
