Your First Design
Make your first design in easyCMS Studio: pick a template for your business, type your words over it, change the font, colours and photo, and save it. Plus when to build a free-form layout instead.
In easyCMS Studio you never start from a blank screen. A design starts from a template: pick one, type your words over it, save. Free-form layouts live in the advanced editor, and most screens never need one.
1. Pick a template
- In Studio, open Designs and tap New design.
- Under Select a template, pick one. Templates for your kind of business show first; the search box and Collection reach every other one.
Every template is also on our templates page.
Search covers every collection, and a filter never hides anything.
2. Make it yours
- Tap Edit this template.
- On the Content tab, type over any text on the preview and click a photo to change it. Long text shrinks to fit.
- On the Style tab, choose the heading font, text size and colours.
- Tap Done, then Save. The design goes into My designs, ready to play on any screen.
Photos come from your Library, an upload, or the free Stock photos tab of the photo picker.
Everything you can change on a template sits in one panel next to the preview.

The shape of your screen
The Screen choice above the preview is Landscape, Portrait or Custom size…. For an LED wall, type its width and height in pixels, then Use this size. For two to four screens side by side or stacked, use New multi-screen design. See screen resolution and orientation.
In the advanced editor
A free-form layout with your own zones and widgets is built in the advanced editor, the classic layout designer: choose Switch to classic easyCMS in Studio’s account menu. See creating layouts.
Watch out In the advanced editor, a layout must be published before it plays. Studio designs need no publishing: saving does it.
