Putting Your Design on a Screen
Play a design on your screens with easyCMS Studio: choose the screens, then Always, Dates and times, Repeat or Weather. How designs take turns, the Schedule page, and how long a change takes to appear.
A design reaches a screen when you tell Studio which screens show it, and when: one popup, about ten seconds.
Play it
- Open your design in Designs (or make one: see your first design).
- Tap Play on….
- Under On which screens?, tick screens or groups.
- Under When should it play?, choose an option (below).
- Press Send.
Or start from the screen: in My screens, tap Change what’s playing and pick a design.
Choose the screens, then when. The line above Send says in plain words what will happen.
When should it play?

| Always | What the screen shows from now on. Use it for a first test. |
| Dates & times | From one moment to another, such as Friday 18:00 to Sunday 23:00. |
| Repeat | Days (Every day, Mon–Fri, Weekends or any mix) and hours, such as 07:00–11:00. 22:00–02:00 runs past midnight. Add an end date if needed. |
| Weather | Rain, snow, sunshine, or colder or warmer than a temperature. Studio asks for the screen’s town the first time. |
Times are the screen’s own local time, as on the clock in the room.
How designs share a screen
Under With what plays now, Take turns rotates it with what already plays, for the seconds you set; Instead of what plays replaces it. A timed design takes over during its time, then the screen goes back to its usual design. An Urgent notice (on the Designs page) goes in front of everything until you stop it.
The Schedule page
Schedule lists each screen with its designs and marks what is On now. Edit changes an entry; Stop takes it off that screen, and the design stays in My designs.

Several screens showing the same thing? Make a group in My screens > Groups > New group and play designs on the group.
How long to wait
Most changes start downloading within moments; otherwise the player picks them up at its next check-in. A large video on a modest connection takes minutes. Watch My screens until the screen “Has all its content”, or open Details and tap Take a new picture.
In the advanced editor: classic layouts
Layouts built in classic easyCMS play through the classic schedule, Schedule > Add Event: see scheduling content. A screen’s default layout, shown when nothing else is scheduled, is a display setting only we can change: ask us.
Watch out A Studio design played with Always and Instead of what plays pauses the screen’s classic schedules; with Take turns, they share the screen. Stop the Studio design and the classic schedules play again.
When it still does not play
Check that the screen was connected through Add a screen and is online, that it is the right time in the screen’s time zone, that nothing is in front of it (an urgent notice or a timed design), and that its files have downloaded. Then work through scheduled content is not playing, or screen stuck on logo if it never got past the logo. Still stuck?
