The short version. Moving off a per-screen subscription is mostly a content job, not a technical one. Your photos and videos come with you; your designs and schedules do not, so plan to rebuild them from ready-made templates. And the most important step comes before you cancel anything: download your media while you still have an account.
Six steps
1. Check your contract
Find the renewal date and the notice period. On annual billing you have already paid, so use the time you have left to switch calmly.
2. List your screens
For each screen: where it is, the make and model, what drives it, and what it shows. Count only the designs that played in the last 90 days.
3. Keep your hardware?
Android boxes, Windows PCs and LG or Samsung signage panels usually carry on. A box your vendor supplied may be locked or leased: ask them in writing.
4. Export your media
Download every photo, video and PDF, take a screenshot of each design, and copy any feed links. Assume you get one chance.
5. Set up easyCMS Studio
Buy the account and all your licences in one order, upload your media to the Library, then pick the closest template and change the words.
6. Switch over
Move one screen first and leave it a week. Then move the rest in batches, and cancel a few days before the renewal date.
Start the steps about eight weeks before renewal and you will have time for both systems to run side by side. Expect to pay for both for four to six weeks; it is cheap insurance against blank screens.

No signage platform we know imports another’s designs. A simple full-screen rotation takes about an hour to rebuild, and a busy multi-zone design up to half a day.
Two things to check in week one. Storage: 1GB on the 49€ account, 5GB on PRO, 20GB on Enterprise; Yodeck advertises unlimited storage even on its free plan (checked September 2026), so a big video library needs planning. Live sources: there is no X (Twitter) widget, no charts widget and no Google Calendar connector, though a calendar link (iCal) works.
When a screen is moved, claim it at Add a display and check it in My screens: it shows whether the screen is online and what it is playing, so you don’t have to drive to the site. The setup guides are per platform: Android, Windows, LG webOS and Samsung Tizen.
Checklist before you cancel
- Every media file downloaded and opened, not just listed
- Original artwork stored somewhere you control
- A screenshot of every design in rotation
- Feed links, calendar links and web page addresses saved
- Spreadsheets and reports exported
- Your vendor’s answer, in writing, on whether the hardware is yours
- Every screen live in easyCMS and showing Online in My screens
- The schedule watched for a full week, weekends included
- Notice period read, cancellation sent a few days early and confirmed in writing
When it pays back
Against Yodeck Basic at €8 per screen per month (checked September 2026), with the account and licences bought in one order:

Licences are 66€ each when bought in the same order as the account and 99€ when added later, so decide how many screens you are moving before you buy. Against a cheaper plan it takes longer: against Xibo Cloud Professional at €4.40 per display per month (checked September 2026), ten screens take about 20 months. A free tier that works
Yodeck gives one screen free and OptiSigns up to three with their logo (checked September 2026). If that suits you, keep it.
Many screens in one building
Rise Vision lists $1,399 per school per year for unlimited displays (checked September 2026). At forty screens in one school, that beats us.
A short deployment
A pop-up, an exhibition or a season. Rent it monthly rather than buying licences for six weeks.
